What Type Of Bin Do I Need?

There are three bin types - check here to see which one you need:

General Rubbish: 2 cubic metre, 3 cubic metre, 4.5 cubic metre, 6 cubic metre, 7.5 cubic metre and 9 cubic metre
Household rubbish, garden waste, building waste, wood, plastic, cardboard, office waste, furniture, home appliances etc

Soil and Clay: 2 cubic metre and 3 cubic metre
Soil and clay only

Concrete: 2 cubic metre and 3 cubic metre
Bricks, rocks, concrete, scoria, stones, asphalt, sand, concrete roof tiles etc


What is a cubic metre?

A cubic metre is a standard unit of measurement.
One cubic metre is the amount that would be held in a cube that is one metre wide by one metre high by one metre deep.


Can I mix concrete, bricks or soil with my rubbish?

No, we have separate bins.
One for concrete, one for soil and clay and our general rubbish bins are for everything else, including garden waste.


How long can I have my bin for?

Bin hire is for up to 5 days but can be left longer by prior arrangement - additional charges apply.


How and When Do I Pay ?

All bins must be paid for on or before delivery.

Credit Card - this can be done on this website simply click on book now.

Cash or Cheque on delivery.

Internet Banking - funds need to show in our account on the day of delivery.

Please note: Unless by prior arrangement: NO PAYMENT, NO BIN.


What if nobody is at home when I want the bin delivered?

You will have to leave detailed instructions on where to place the bin and payment will need to be arranged.


How high can I fill the bin or skip?

Level to the top. Think safety!!
If the bin is overloaded it will have to be levelled before we can transport it to comply with LTSA and OSH rules and regulations.


Do we have weight limits on our Bins?

Yes we do on General Rubbish bins but not on Concrete or Soil Bins. For more information click here.


Is there a minimum driveway access width?

Yes, a minimum driveway width of 2.6 metres is required.


Can I move the bin?

NO! once placed the bin must not be moved. If moved when empty you will not be able to move the bin back and the driver may not be able to pick up the bin again. Any damage done to the bin or property by a bin being moved will be the responsibility of the hirer.


Can I have the bin left on the road?

Unfortunately we are unable to do this as it is a road hazard.
The only exemption is if you have obtained a permit from your local council before hand.


Terms and Conditions

Our Delivery policy
Blue Bins Ltd will do their utmost to deliver your bin on the date booked but Blue Bins will NOT be liable for any failure or delays in delivery.
Late delivery does not automatically entitle anyone to cancel an order or to obtain a refund. Blue Bins is Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.

Our Refund policy
Blue Bins will provide a full refund in respect of any bin ordered but not provided by us.
If you wish to cancel your order and obtain a refund you must notify Blue Bins at least 2 working days before the agreed delivery date.
There will be no refunds if Blue Bins try to deliver a bin as arranged but are told upon delivery it is no longer required.

Payment Options
Payment can be made by Visa Card or Mastercard at the time of ordering on this website. Payment on delivery or by Direct Credit is also possible when booking online or by prior arrangement with the driver or office.

Extra Charges and Penalties
The hirer is liable to reimburse Blue Bins for any fees or costs incurred for prohibited waste, excessive weights, blocked access and ANY damage to our bin.

Use of our Bins
The bins supplied are only for use of General Waste (Household rubbish, garden waste, building waste, domestic waste, wood, plastic, cardboard, office waste, furniture, household appliances etc or Hardfill Waste (Bricks, rocks, concrete, soil, clay, sand, scoria, pebbles, stones, tarseal, asphalt, concrete roof tiles etc).
General waste and Hardfill Waste cannot be mixed in the same bin.
You must not place hazardous or prohibited items in our bins, for example: Liquids, paint, solvents, oils, chemicals, asbestos, fibrolite, tyres, polystyrene, expanded foam, hot ash, explosives or flammable waste.
Once placed by the driver, the bin must not be moved.
The bin must not be overloaded - please do not exceed the level of the highest side of the bin or we won't be able to remove it.

Liability
Blue Bins will not be liable for any claim for damages, losses or expenses relating to the non delivery or late delivery of a bin.
Blue Bins will not be liable for any damage done to driveways, overhead services or underground services such as cables and drainage.

Important Note:
If you do not agree with any of our terms and conditions then contact Blue Bins immediately and do not use the bin/equipment if already supplied.

Privacy and Data policy:
Your privacy is important to us. We will never reveal your information to anyone else without your permission.
On request Blue Bins will happily modify or remove any information we securely hold on our system about you or your company.

Payment System and Credit Card Payment Security:
Blue Bins uses the National Bank Buypoint system to handle your credit card information safely and securely.
This system is fully PCI and DSS compliant.
